1809 – Lot 97 – Arms / Bayonets

Zoom

Ξιφολόγχη 19ου αιώνα.

The stamps on this bayonet show that it was made in Germany by Kirschbaum & Bremshey but diverted to France, presumably for the Franco-Prussian War of 1870. The 57.5cm yataghan T section blade shows pitting and age related tarnishand is marked on the ricasso with Kirschbaum. The ribbed brass handle is sound and the spring mechanism works well. Contained in its steel scabbard. L71cm long overall.
